Mitigative capacity:

The sector accounts for 84 per cent of energy consumption in Burkina Faso. The NAMA Support Project has the potential to achieve 41 per cent of the national emission reduction target.

Co-benefits:

Social: More stable supply chains and continuous, more affordable energy access. The majority of the target group is women.
Economic: The project aims to channel money from various sources into the sector, such as FIP, Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) and private funds.
Environmental: The project also contributes to a healthier and more resilient environment, reducing indoor and outdoor pollution.
