Objective:

Sixteen 20 kW solar PV will be installed at the government building of DKI Jakarta.

Activities: (2015 - 2019)
Sixteen 20 kW solar PV will be installed at the government building of DKI Jakarta. The project is five years duration, which covers the project implementation, operation and MRV (measuring reporting, monitoring and verification). The energy reduction from implementation will be in the first year. Under this proposal the GHG emission reduction will be 450 ton CO2e/year, and will cost around Rp 30 Billion (roughly $2.5 million USD) The intent is to replace fossil based grid electricity, and promote renewable energy utilization

The beneficiary of the NAMA project is each of the local governments of Greater Jakarta that will function as the developing and implementing agency of the NAMA project. While the GHG reduction potential of the 320 KW solar PV pilot project is small, its expected to be transformational if this NAMAs project should be replicated nationwide. The solar resource all over the country is similar, thus the potential for meaningful replication does exist.

Impact and MRV

pChart

Cumulative GHG reductions: 0.00675 MtCO2e
Mitigative capacity:

No information has been provided on mitigative capacity

Co-benefits:

Social: Capacity building is expected, using this solar PV installation as an example for installation on other buildings in the future.
Economic: Reduction in electrical bills for this building.
Environmental: To install solar PV for the provision of clean electricity to replace fossil grid electricity supplied by PLN (State Electricity company) in DKI Jakarta. This project will promote renewable energy utilization. It should be noted that the electrical grid is powered by a mix of coal, oil, gas, hydropower and geothermal power plants (emission factor of the grid is 0.814 ton CO2e/MWh)

MRV Framework: (2015 - 2019)

The solar PV is to be equipped with dedicated kWh-meter to record the electricity consumption from the solar PV. Training and operation of the MRV system will be established.

To be funded using APBN/APBD or other domestic mitigation action funding sources such as ICCTF. Other expenditures related to NAMAs activities (i.e.. establishment, capacity building, and operate the MRV system) are expected to be funded from domestic sources such as ICCTF or from international grants. Assumption that 12 000IDR=$1USD
